It is a great English movie describing a story about a girl’s growth. The frames, actors and actresses and the treatments of details are all excellent. And among all qualities, the most outstanding one I believe is the plot.

At the beginning of the story, everything is so romantic that it seems to be a traditional love film. A young, eminent and charming girl meets a middle-aged gentle man. Jenny is proud at first but immediately she is attracted by David’s distinctive characteristics. Everything processes without expectation. David brings Jenny to a new world, which is crowded with good restaurants, French movies, concerts….Although Jenny is a good student that appears obedience at ordinary times, she remains a heart of rebellion and a desire to seek a different and wonderful life which I appreciate most. When she finds she can realize her dream through another way, she gives up the tradition way. She may looks immature when she debates with the teacher and the headmaster about the meaning of going to a famous college; at that moment she is courageous because she dares to doubt the tradition and common knowledge. She wants to not only go to a famous college but also have a gorgeous and different life. However, the ending of the story destroys Jenny’s illusion and the same with many young girls’. David is a married man and his promise is so fragile that he does not even have the courage to explain to Jenny’s parents. This man in the dream disappears with his unique red car. The whole story is like a dream. But life needs to go on and Jenny needs to go back to the reality. Though she bears great hurt but she has had a good lesson that there is no shortcut in life. What she dreams about can only be gained by her own effort. A woman can only gain her truly needed life by her own efforts. Through this setback Jenny grows from a girl into a mature woman, and as she says after she has been enrolled in Oxford, “I am different, I am not like them.” She becomes smarter and stronger. Women of this kind can really be independent and success in the life. This Education is for both Jenny and all young girls, who dream about Prince Charming every day. If most lost girls can learn the quintessence from the film or stand up again as bravely as Jenny do, they won’t lost in the enticements of the outside world and be destroyed by a single man. Taken this view, this film is quite meaningful.
